Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is a native of Minsk which is the capital city of Belarus. Sergey, her father (who passed away in the year 2019) was an ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka hails from Belarus and was born May 5th 1998. She has won 12 WTA titles throughout her career. This includes her Grand Slam of 2023 Australian Open. Doubles is her forte and she has also won Majors during the US Open (2019) and Australian Open (2021), both of which were with Elise Mertens. Together with the Belgian tennis star, she won WTA 1000s at Indian Wells in 2019 and Miami. This feat was made possible by four couples competing in the women's doubles. Her ranking went from second to third on the World Singles Rankings on 23 August 2021. The highest ranking she achieved was achieved again in January of 2023. In the same year, she was crowned in Melbourne before she went to the top spot on the planet for doubles. She was coached by former Russian tennis star Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the 2019 season and partly at the beginning of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was her short-term coach from August to September of 2020. Antonio Dubrov has been her coach from 2020. Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are her greatest idols.
